Once again,  Duque cigar company comes through for Real Freakin' Cigar Reviews.  In this case, it is with a pre-production cigar.  I'm going to be following up with Duque to get the particulars on this stick.

Initial Thoughts

Compliments of  Duque cigars, I get the honor of giving a truly "new" cigar a "first look," or in this case, "first puff."

Visually, the cigar is a medium brown color, some veininess.  There are no observed soft spots.  Taking a sniff of this stick, gives me many aromas... slightly sweet, with some earthiness to it.

The Smoke

Taking my first couple of puffs, and I'm rewarded with a leathery, slightly sweet taste.  The draw is quite nice, and burn is pretty much perfect.

At the 1/3rd point, the flavor intensifies some, but definitely what I would call on the milder side of medium.  Draw and burn are perfect.

A little further, and there's a slightly peppery flavor added into the mix.  Draw and burn are perfect.  I have to say, this is quite an enjoyable smoke so far!  I have to say, I'm decidedly conflicted with this cigar... its like watching the previews for the latest action flick you ACTUALLY want to see, but instead, you're stuck in this lame chick flick that you've been dragged to in an effort to connect with your significant other.  Ok, maybe none of ya'll have been dragged to a chick flick, so what about "back in the day," when you were doing some heavy pettin' in the back of some non-descript car (my case, 1969 Buick Electra), and the gal your with suddenly realizes that you are both emotionally AND physically erect, and says something along the lines of "I'm sorry, but I really need to go now...."(Yes, I was raised that "No" is "No," so, yes, I took her home and had a cold shower.

Anyway... at the 2/3rds point, the cigar is slightly more peppery, but definitely still medium bodied in my book.  I have to say, I really like the flavor profile, and the burn and draw are perfect.  This is a very smooth and enjoyable cigar.

And, I'm down to the absolute nub of this cigar...
