Initial Thoughts

I bought this particular brand as a result of some insane CI special, and I thought I'd give 'em a whirl.  Initial thoughts are this: Not a bad looking stick -- some veininess, no observed soft spots.  Smell test -- smells sweet and very slightly nutty.

The Smoke

I clip the cap, and am slightly surprised with the sweet taste of the cigar.  The CI site mentions that it has a sweetened tip, and I have to say, right this second, thats what I'm in the mood for, since I've given up sweets in an effort to cease my rapidly expanding mid-section from making me look like I could be a Jabba The Hut body double.

I light the stick, and am greeted with a toasty sweet flavor.  Not particularly complex, but mellow (as a Sunday morning should be shouldn't it?).

At the 1/3rd point, the cigar continues to be toasty and sweet.  The draw is pretty easy, some unevenness in the burn, but it appears to be correcting itself.

At the 2/3 point, the burn has self corrected; stick continues to be toasty and sweet.  A slight hint of bitterness is noted at this point.  Lots of billowy white smoke, and a grey ash.

The Rating

Flavor: 6/10Nice mild, sweet flavor.  Not much complexity, slight bitterness as smoking progressed.
 Draw:10/10 Perfect draw.
Construction: 7/10 Well constructed cigar, some uneven burning.
Overall: 6/10Nice mild flavor, limited complexity, some bitterness was noted.
No. 2 : Dang!
Ok.. obviously I screwed up with the dreaded "cut and paste". Sorry. I'll fix the review. I DID actually go to college, and well, last time I checked, 49.95/20 was in fact 2.49 per stick.
