Initial Thoughts
In an effort to have cigar reviews that span the entire spectrum of cigars, I bought a box (25!) of these cigars.  When I bought them, they were actually on sale for $29.95, so slightly more than a buck a stick.  The description of the cigar basically said "yardgar" to me, so in honor of that stigma, I in fact smoked the cigar while mowing the lawn today.

In terms of the construction of the stick, the wrapper shows some veininess, a couple of pinkie sized soft spots.  Smelling the cigar was not a total olfactory insult , but definitely pungent.

The Smoke
I use my punch cutter, toast the foot and take my first puff.  The cigar tastes peppery and slightly bitter, and produces a great deal of billowing white smoke.  I take another couple of puffs, lots more smoke, and more of the same flavor.  Yep, this is DEFINITELY a yardgar!  Speaking of which, my backyard seems to have become a small scale jungle.

At the 1/3 point, the flavor is consistently peppery and bitter.  The cigar produces enough smoke that were I a bee keeper, I probably wouldn't have to use one of the little smoke cans to calm the bees.  In that context, this is a perfect yardgar -- any bees that are irritated with the noise of the lawnmower will be unable to find the actual source of the noise due to the massive smoke screen that is produced.  The draw is quite easy, and at this point, the burn is good.

At the 2/3 point, the flavor is consistent although the amount of smoke produced seems to have been reduced.  The burn however, has become rather uneven, and given the fact that I'm actually mowing the lawn, I'm not going to bother to try and fix the issue.

I'm now done with the lawn (backyard and postage stamp sized front yard), and the cigar.  Yes, the cigar was marginal at best, but the fact remains, its a cheap cigar... whadya expect?  The wife informed me that I stank and needed to take a shower immediately.

The Rating

Flavor: 3/10 Peppery and bitter, monochromatic.
 Draw: 7/10Good draw.
Construction: 5/10"OK" construction, some soft spots, uneven burn, lots of acrid smoke.
Overall: 4/10 Its definitely a yardgar... and I've got 23 left to smoke (I gave one to Ash).
