OSG? What the HELL... Three Letter Acronyms for a friggin' cigar?
Initial Thoughts I got these on a "CI" special, and thought "hey... these are Rocky Patels.... they've gotta be good." Physically, the cigar is a redish brown, and is nothing short of gorgeous. No visible blemishes, and I can't find any soft spots. Sniff test... mmmm... smells slightly sweet. If it stands up to what I'm expecting, this is gonna be a great smoke! The Smoke I clip the cap, toast the foot and take my first puff. I have to say... Mr. Patel definitely did NOT disappoint! Toasty, with a hint of sweetness, and in a word... smooooth! Plenty of billowy white smoke too :). I have to admit, this is a REALLY tasty cigar!! At the 1/3 point, the burn and draw are basically perfect, plenty of toasty flavor, and I'm noticing a hint of peppery flavor as well. at the 2/3 point, the peppery flavor is a little stronger, and this cigar is clearly on the upper end of medium/lower end of full bodied. After 30 minutes, the cigar is done, and I'll admit, I wish I had purchased a bigger size. According to the CI site, these will never be produced again. I'm thinkin' I'm definitely going to have to purchase some more before they're gone. The Rating
No. 1 : I never buy ring gauges under 50. If you don't have the hour to smoke a fine cigar then wait until you can. A cigar is supposed to initiate and enjoyify your well deserved down time. RP OSG's do just that. A box of these is money well spent. |
