Dan takes on a Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 Silver Edition.
![]() Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 Silver Edition Initial Thoughts I guess I'm just a lop, but I don't "get" the whole aspect to "limited edition" crap in general. Take cars for example, how is something a limited edition if there's 20,000 others made. Limited, in my mind, means well, just that, limited... maybe 2 or 3 in existence... NOT for us common folk. By the same token, I take personal issue with the whole gold, silver, oh wait, platinum is better than gold. Who really gives a fuck. I mean seriously... its either good, or its not. Shades of grey really comes down to personal preference. With that said, I have here, in my hot little (actually its friggin' cold out here) hands, a Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 SILVER Edition. I guess that means I'm gonna be puffin' on a low budget version of the Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 cigar. So, initial inspection, reveals a firm, very good lookiing, maduro cigar. I'll admit it, I don't see anything resembling any sort of a flaw on this smoke. Maybe I need to get a loupe so I can better inspect my cigars... ok, maybe thats a little extreme. I followed Ash's lead, and had my wife sniff the smoke before I lit it. I liked the smell... she responded with "Oooph." I'm thinkin' the Mrs. is not gonna be an active participant in these reviews. The Smoke At approximately the 1/2 way point, I'm tasting some additional flavors, sweet, almost fruity. I am observing some slight unevenness with the burn; ash is a dark grey. Flavor on this cigar is a strong medium; not bitter at all though. The burn has now evened up as I'm approaching the 2/3 point, and I have to say, this is an enjoyable cigar indeed. I'm not tastiing any bitterness whatsoever; just good, strong flavor (definitely in the higher end of medium), with really good complexity. I've noticed a little squishiness between my thumb and forefinger; not enough to write home about, but just thought I'd write what I'm observing. This is a cigar that I have happily smoked down as far as I physically can, with no bitterness at all.
